just surfing the net and wondering about iSync for my 903sh

I actually live in Japan and this phone was pretty popular when it came out. I bought because of it's flash capability. Other than that, it's a turd.

I'll check out the software you mention, but getting a nokia may be on the cards.

Rodden,
you mean English manual? I don't think it exists though I didn't try to find it. Not that I know if there is any manual at all..
Basically, you just install the thing, enter your serial at some point, and then just launch iSync and add your mobile phone to the list of devices. Once you have done that, there interface is in English. As for the rest of utilities (which don't have English UI), I found them utterly useless and iSync conduit doing everything I need.
Contact me directly if you have probs with translation and i'll see if I can help.

Steven,

unfortunately, I don't know the answer.. I have a Japanese version of 903SH and iSync conduit works fine with it. I didn't have a chance to test it with any other firmware version

Hi Mike,

I read somewhere on the net the iSync conduit is only compatible with only Vodafone JP firmware (for 903SH). Have you tried iSync conduit and a Sharp 903SH with other sorts of firmware?

Thanks!

Hi Ernest,

I have just checked the Reudo's site and the 705SH is mentioned as to be supported by iSync conduit (although OS X 10.4 is required). You can check the list of supported phones here: http://www.reudo.co.jp/ksync_mac/phone_vodafone_3g.html (warning: the bloody stuff is all in japanese, but you can actually see the iSync section, and it's all supported - dont worry about the other checkboxes as it's all compatibility info with Reudo's own crappy sync utils)

Regarding the cable, I don't know if there is anything special about the cable. When I bought my sharp 903sh, and then purchased the Reudo's kit, the default cable which was attached was incompatible with the phone so I had to request a (free) replacement from Reudo. Other than that, don't know.. may be there's no difference at all with any other USB cable which plugs into your 705sh.

Regarding the conduit - this thing is actually on sale only as a part of cable+software packages, and after a quick look at Reudo's site, they don't seem to offer the kit outside of Japan :( And everything in the kit except for iSync conduit is in Japanese, without any localizations, so they basically don't care about foreign markets it seems. You MIGHT TRY to order a kit from a Japanese online site I think (the price is about $40-$50 ), but AFAIK, the thing is only delivered inside of Japan. Doh..

Hi there, I would like to sync my Sharp SX633 with my mac. (SX633 is equivialent to Japanese Sharp 705SH) I am wondering if there is anything special with the Reudo cable? can i use just the regular data cable for my phone. Also do you know if the conduit for 903SH works for any other sharp phones and what is the address for the conduit. Thanks

Hey!
Yup I was able to do it, but in kind of a hard way. As the 903sh doesn't support all the features for bluetooth sychronization, I had to purchase a USB cable + software kit (KEITAI Sync from Reudo company) . The address is: http://www.reudo.co.jp/ksync_mac/index.html

Amongst heaps of junk utils there is a iSync Conduit for 903sh which will sync your address book, ical etc between the computer and the phone.

The site is in Japanese only as well as the software, but you can use the kit to sync your mac and sharp 903sh (and you have to opt-in for a free cable for 903sh for the default one doesn't support the phone). And I'm not sure if you can order it if you're outside Japan, but.. may be you will find a way.

Hope this helps.
Cheers.
