From me to Apple. Re: iWeb
I have sent the following feedback to Apple regarding iWeb after waiting for almost a minute for the bloody application to even open on my Mac :/
Hello,
I've been using iWeb since it was released. I now have 5 galleries which I share using .Mac
Here are some thoughts:
- iWeb is pretty slow even though I only have 5 galleries. And that's on the current top-of-the-line 20-inch Intel iMac with maxed-out RAM and Video RAM!! Opening the application, switching between galleries… Painfully slow and it shouldn't be like that!
- Themes are although nice, are very-very hefty on the browsers and I even have hard times loading pages via my broadband connection (don't even want to think about experience of people on modems or slow ADSLs). And yes, solution is easy - you just optimize themes and preview pictures
- The top navigation bar just PLAIN SUCKS. With 5 galleries I already have nivagation bar 2 lines tall. And once I add another gallery it will be extented to 3 lines. You know.. I don't know what designers at Apple thought when they were making themes, but as the design itself it very nice, the LAYOUT of pages SUCKS big time. Allow at least free positioning of navigation bar!!
- Add bloody subfolders already. Every other visual home building program already has them, and they actually come quite handy when you are not a grandma having 2 web-pages max.
- SPEED!
- and yeah.. being subscriber at .Mac I must say that 50-60K/s upload/download cap sucks.
That is.. I mean come on guys. If you think it's ok not to work hard on functionality just because it's version 1.0, that's not a good approach. You don't add features - and nobody uses your half-baked junk.
Here's the link to my .Mac galleries BTW. Not much and not very interesting but oh well ;)
